And they're off

On Saturday Nathanael and Dad left for Scout Camp.


They were very excited to go and we were happy for them to go for many reasons. One that we were particularly happy for... we could eat gluten!!! We started making a list right away. Just a few things we have had a gluten pizza, pigs in a blanket and crepes. All of these things would have been impossible if our dad were here, but we still love you, Dad:)

They will be home on Saturday, but who's counting? :)

When Nana Comes...

You do many things (which requires a very long post, so I would like to warn you in advanced). We got to show her our new house for the first time. We were all really excited!!

We took her to the Hill Cumorah Pageant. We went early so that we could go to the top of the Hill and see Moroni.

While we were on the top we did a few things. We got another great picture of Mom and Dad,


and stopped to take some pictures of some flowers.


This is my favorite. I just love the color!

Then we ate some dinner and waited and waited and waited some more for it to start. It was really not that bad, we did wait a while, but we saw some friends and talked to them and walked around. It was all good. :)

We also took Nana to Lake Ontario Beach Park. We walked up and down the whole pier (it is very, very long).


We saw many boats.

Then we walked and went to play in the sand.


Then we went to the boardwalk.


After that we took a ride on the carousel.


and finally the last thing we did was go to Abbott's and get some ice cream.


Nana also went to church with us and went with us to the canal and to feed the ducks (which I don't have any pictures of because I was not there).

We had lots of fun having Nana visit us. We were very sad to see her go.


We love you, Nana, and miss you every day!! Come visit us again soon!!!

Please Help Me

So here is the story of why I have not blogged in forever... I started using Picasa to edit my pictures and now I don't how to upload the edited ones*. If you use Picasa and would kindly leave a comment on how to help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I thought I would upload one picture that I have not edited. I thought it was okay without any editing. I took it when I went to Pageant. There are so many beautiful flowers there!!

Happy 16th Anniversary!!!

Exactly 16 years ago today, my parents were married here


for time and all eternity. (Sorry for the dark pictures)






I thought that I would put their engagement picture in the this post because it shows may dad can smile:)

Like I said, all of these pictures show that my dad can actually smile in pictures unlike now,


Just kidding, he can smile when he wants to, like in this pic of my parents from the last post on the fourth of July.

Little did they know that in about a year and half later they would add me to their little family and it would keep growing:)

I am so grateful for all that my parents do for me and my siblings. They always support and encourage us in everything we do and want us to be our best. I am so glad that we have them forever... well, sometimes, just kidding:) I hope your guys have a fantastic anniversary this year and many to come. I love you!!

Fourth of July

We had another fantastic fourth of July. We did many things including

Swimming with friends (which I did not do because it was so cold!)






Ate Dinner
Seleta famous jello (a must at every fourth of July celebration:))




Jumped on the trampoline


Ate Dessert



Held babies (my personal favorite)



Walked to the fireworks




and watched the fireworks (sorry, no pictures of them. I'm not that good.)


Oh, I almost forgot. I got a fabulous picture of my parents for our blog. Well, my mom doesn't think it is such a fabulous picture (I'm trying to convince her otherwise).


All in all, we had another great fourth of July, with friends, food and fireworks, what more could we have asked for?


Maybe some warmer weather... well, that's for another day:)

"Family history I am doing it..."

This post is going to require some background information, so bear with me...
A while ago the Young Women decided to have a genealogy month and learn how to use the new family search program and such. I thought it was a good idea. Little did I know how "into it" I would become and how much time I would spent working on family history. It is almost as addicting as facebook... almost:)
Both of my parents are converts, so none of their families have any family history work done, so I made an account on the website (https://www.new.familysearch.org) and started with my parents. I put in all of the information that I already had and then started the searching. Many people have been willing to help me with learning how to use the program and I have learned alot.
After my dad's family came to America, most of his family settled in New York or Pennsylvania and there is this one little cemetery in New York that alot of my dad's family. This is now my favorite cemetery because it has alot of my dad's family, and I mean ALOT. This makes it alot easier for family historians like myself because you can go to one place and get pretty much all of the information you need. This past time that we went to the cemetery, I walked around the whole thing and took down lots of names and dates. One couple in particular that I was looking for was Floyd Warner and Daisy Rockefeller. I was very happy when I found this

I also found in this family plot their son that only lived a few months and other names that I did not have before. I am always so happy when I find someone that I didn't have before.
One other thing I love about having my dad's family all in one place is that you can find a maiden name and it will lead you to another line in your family tree. Every time I go back, I have another name to look for and I will walk up all of the rows of stones until I find that one.
This is probably boring because all this post is, is me finding people in a cemetery that I don't even know, but I guess the real reason I wrote this is because I am so grateful for family history work and that we will be able to see the people that we do work for some day. I am also so grateful that we can see all of the people that have already passed on again. I know I am looking forward to that day.

Our Garden

We started a garden this past Memorial Day. We are trying to grow pumpkins, lettuce, carrots, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, watermelon, and some herbs.

And our poor cilantro. We have rabbits and they keep eating it every night. We have not been able to eat and enjoy any of it.


As you can see our garden is a work and progress. We have some plants that are growing quite well and some that are getting eaten by other things. We hope to enjoy the food that we grow as it comes time to pick and eat it!
