Day 2

 We did pretty much the same things as yesterday. Ate breakfast and lunch watching television, rescued before Dad came home and just hung out at home. A few other things we did were playing in the snow

And the they played Guitar Hero ( for the third night in a row :) )

 And Rachel practiced the piano for 40 minutes! It's true (I watched the clock). She didn't practice the day before and I told her that she had to practice today and she said that she would make up for yesterday by practicing 40 minutes today. We maybe at a break through! :)

Day 1

We ate lunch while watching a movie in the den (Shhhh! don't tell Dad... :) )

They rescued... when asked! (Wow)

 This is Samuel's idea of putting things away, put them on the stairs for people to trip over later...

Abigail thought she would be funny and eat upstairs (again, don't tell Mom or Dad...)

 And when Dad came home... clean! Clean table

 Clean counter

 No dishes in the sink (except the ones that must be washed by hand)

 No mess!

  They even put their dishes in the dish washer! (I think something happened to my real siblings...)

 What does all of this mean? It means a happy Dad and happy children!

Overall, it was a good day. No fights, no huge messes, and we are all still alive. That is what I call a good day. :)
 

Day 1- success. Day 2- we will have to see... :)

While Mom is away...

As most of you know, my mom is going to New York City for a few days to stay with our grandpa while he has surgery. This means that I will be with Abigail, Rachel and Samuel for most of the days (except Friday when Dad is working from home). Hopefully all goes well and we are still alive and the house is still standing on Sunday when she returns. Wish us luck!

5K Race for the House of Mercy

Look what my family did last Saturday. Jonathan and Sarah ran in a 5K race. They had been training during the summer. I am so proud of them. They did a great job!!!

First Day of School

Everyone had a good first day.
I even had a good day, with it being my first day alone all day in 16 years. I don't know where the time has gone. I feel like we are starting a new chapter in our family.

Swimming Lessons 2010

Abigail, Rachel and Samuel did swimming lessons this year again with Libby and they loved it.

They got to do swimming lessons with their friends again too.

They have improved so much in these past years with Libby. Samuel is even diving!

Abigail and Rachel have both improved their diving as well. Well, I'm sure diving with Upstate Diving and Cliff help too... :)

Hopeful Libby will be able to come back next year and do swimming lessons again. The kids really hope so. :)

Vacation Bible School

Abigail and Rachel went to Vacation Bible School again this year during the last week in July. They love going and it is nice to have two less people in the house in the morning for a week. :) They get to go with their friends and learn lots of songs.

On the last day they have a little presentation and every group sings a song.

They can't wait to go next year and I can't wait for more quiet mornings. :) Now we just have to find something for Nathanael and Samuel to do...

Abigail's Project

Abigail really wanted to learn how to sew, so my mom taught her. After Abigail learned how, she made a blanket for Rachel and herself.

Abigail has really enjoyed sewing and can't wait to do it again. Maybe next time she will make a blanket for me. :)
